My name is Buket, I’m from Hamburg and I’ve always been drawn to working with my hands. In 2021 I discovered pottery. It didn’t take long before I felt the need to give expression to all my ideas, which led me to found my own brand. Since then, my inner voice, my longings, and my thoughts have found form and permanence through clay.

What does Doenues mean?

Doenues is derived from the Turkish word dönüş, which means “returning” or "comeback". In 2022, I spent time with my family in the Turkish countryside — in the village where we come from. I left Turkey deeply inspired.

That’s when the word dönüş (“dö-nüsh”) came to me. It captured my desire to bring a piece of that experience into my everyday life, and reflected a deep longing to express and anchor parts of myself that can feel lost or unsettled while living in a different country.

Today, I see that dönüş also means returning to myself — finding my voice and my way again and again.
